Focusing on the intimacy of human relationship, emotion, and self-preservation, I seek to create a visual reflection of what some have been forbidden to acknowledge by joining the hands of color in various mediums. Through deconstruction and re-assembly of cut materials, paint, and sometimes just ink, I investigate restoration with precision. The multifaceted layers resonate as quiet, and shouted visual conversations-some free to express, others that “must” spoken in whispered tone. The chemistry of colors combined are held together, and even in fracture, everything remains whole in an never-ending narrative.

One might suggest that she meddles. She dabbles in varied media, cutting, scratching, painting and assembling pieces of color into what many might be best described as assembled fractures. Yemonja might state that she loves painting, but it is just her go to answer when pressed to give her favorite medium.

She loves to play with the soul and spirit of color.
